Construction crews have been working through the winter months on the Eddie Montgomery’s Steakhouse restaurant and entertainment venue in Harrodsburg, Ky. As the largest log structure made of Northern White Cedar we’ve built, it’s been an exciting project for Katahdin over the past 18 months.

The exterior of the restaurant has been closed in for a while, and crews have been hard at work doing the interior finishing details. We spoke to Tommy Mitchell, who has partnered with Mr. Montgomery on the development. “The momentum is really building!” he said. “Everyone from Katahdin has done a heck of a job seeing this project through,” he added.

Presently crews are installing and hanging lights and sound systems for the concert area in the restaurant. Outside, landscaping will get added as parking areas, curbs, sidewalks and other features are completed.

“We’ve hired our restaurant manager, and want to ensure that our server staff is very well trained and comfortable with our systems before we have our grand opening,” Mitchell said.  The grand opening is still pending as the namesake, country music singer Eddie Montgomery, has a full tour schedule through June.  Mitchell plans to add 50-75 new jobs to operate the steakhouse.  Employment information is available on their website, www.eddiemontgomerysteakhouse.com.
