As any successful business person knows, it’s important to us to stay in touch with our customers, our dealers and suppliers. Much of that communication was once presented on paper. Like many businesses, we’ve been moving away from the use of paper, though there will still be a need for some documents to be produced on paper. Here are some of the strategies Katahdin uses to reduce our paperwork and our use of paper.
Electronic Communication
Award-winning Website.
Over the past year we’ve instituted a series of changes and updates to communicate with you. You’re using one of the first key elements we’ve updated: KatahdinCedarLogHomes.com. On our website, we offer unique search options that enable you to review plans based on your parameters. We also offer a great way to get in touch with your local dealer and to spot upcoming events on the Events page. You’ll also find contact information, tips for designing your home, package contents, even information about the area surrounding our headquarters in Northern Maine, should you like to plan a visit!
The View Up North Newsletter.
Each month we publish a magazine-style newsletter about the log home lifestyle. This newsletter keeps our customers up to date on new ideas, decorating, log home-related topics, and a monthly “Green Tip” to alert you to some of the great environmentally friendly solutions we find in the marketplace. Printed Materials
Office Paper.
Despite most everyone’s best efforts we still consume a quantity of paper at our offices. We have reduced our paper communications with Katahdin dealers and builders through a dedicated dealer portal where dealers can track their jobs and maintain contact with their customers. We have an active recycling program for waste paper in the buildings and are always looking for other ways to cut paper consumption if possible.
Marketing Materials.
One of the staples of the building business is our beautiful brochure, where we can showcase Katahdin Cedar Log Homes to our customers. We’ve made this brochure available on this website to download free of charge.
Some of our customers are not electronically inclined and prefer to hold a catalog in their hands. So, we continue to produce – in smaller quantities – a four-color guidebook to Katahdin Cedar Log Homes. The guidebook is printed on recycled paper using “green” inks where possible.
