Hot Stove Report: The Latest Trends in Ovens

February 12, 2012

We’ve got basketball fever in Aroostook County, where the high school basketball championships are taking place! We take our sports seriously up here, and it’s not unusual for entire communities to pack up and travel down to Bangor, Portland or Augusta when their team does well.

We’re extremely pleased with our website’s new design. While some of the improvements are visual, other updates enable our visitors to find information more easily on the site. We hope you’ll take a quick spin on the site to see what we’re doing!

While the winter has been mild and relatively snow free up north, many folks are suffering through some tough weather. We thought it might be useful to speak with a native Mainer to learn what tips she has from surviving through decades of what Maine has to offer. We also provide some more modern-day solutions to making the most of the colder months.

Just when you thought there couldn’t be any more changes to the way the home chef bakes, the appliance industry comes up with some new twists to make preparing meals easy and enjoyable. We get the lowdown on some pretty amazing ovens!

And speaking of good food, we explore how raising chickens in your backyard can provide you with a steady supply of organic eggs, as well as the satisfaction that raising animals can provide. There are plenty of things to know before you start out, and we’ve located some great resources.

For those of you who have been following our foray into China, we have loaded up and shipped the containers filled with the first structure: a 10,000-square-foot lodge and sales office. The loading was a learning process for everyone, and we’re glad to be working on the next shipment.

Check Out Katahdin’s New Look!

We’re delighted to announce our redesigned website is now live! We have been working with our website designer to add new photography, navigation and other features to encourage our customers to explore. Learn more here.

Survive Winter Like a Mainer!

Mainers have a pretty good collective knowledge about surviving the worst that Mother Nature can throw at us. So we talked with a few winter weather veterans to find out how they make the best of cold, snow and the inevitable power outage. Click here.
