Log Home Retro Kitchens, Fall Lawn Care, Fall Seminars

September 12, 2013

Good Morning!

Fall is one our favorite times of the year: a bit of nip in the air, apple picking and bright school buses stopping along our country lanes. It’s also the time when we take to the road to meet with you and talk about Katahdin Cedar Log Homes. We’ve booked two Log Home Planning Seminars in October, as well as a full schedule of log homes shows.

This month’s The View From Up North features some tips for lawn maintenance in the fall- really the best time to take care of your lawn! From feeding to treating for pests and giving your grass room to breathe, we’ve found some options to keep your new lawn healthy.

If you’re of a certain age, you’ll remember the great designs that went into appliances in the 1950s and ’60s. One company has recreated the exterior styles and colors and applied modern features to stoves, refrigerators, ovens and dishwashers.

Once a Jacuzzi-style tub was a master bath must-have. But noise and problems with keeping it clean have kept many from adding a large spa tub to their bathroom plans. However, one company uses a pump to jet heated air, rather than water, and provide a gentler, quieter experience.

And finally in our Green Tip, we’ve found a perfect solution for noisy or high-traffic areas: recycled leather tiles and flooring. Recycled leather provides a unique look and feel as an accent on the wall or as a rugged floor to add luxury and noise absorption.

We hope you’ll enjoy this month’s newsletter! If you have an interesting topic or question we should investigate, drop us a line and we’ll try to include them in upcoming newsletters. Just click here to reach us.

Sincerely,

David Gordon
President

Retro Kitchen Appliances

Many of us have fond memories of the hulking refrigerator or funky stove in our parents’ or grandparents’ kitchens. Now one company has combined their retro exterior designs with modern amenities inside. Take a trip down memory lane here.

Airbaths Offer a Luxurious Option

Jacuzzi-style baths always start out great, but because they work by pumping water in jets through the tub, they can be noisy and hard to keep clean. A new option that uses quieter air pumps can add luxury to your bath. See how here.
