Good morning!
Summer is a great time of year in Maine and it’s especially nice when it arrives before the Fourth of July. A rainy spring has left the hills and meadows a deep green, with trees filling out the verdant array of colors.
Rainy days or not, the mills are busy here in Oakfield. As you can imagine, summer is our peak production season, with building projects starting and the increase in new homes shipping out. One of the things we like to educate our customers about is how we can offer our beautiful Northern White Cedar log homes at the price of pine. We take a look at the reasons behind that below.
This month’s stories focus on a number of new products available to enhance various areas of the home. We take a look at touchless faucets and how the technology has advanced since these sensor-loaded plumbing fixtures have hit the market. We explore the love of the coffee bean with a review of built-in coffee systems, which can free up counter space and make you the top barista in your home!
Many of our Katahdin log home designs feature lots of windows to bring the outdoors into the home. We take a look at a new option to the typical sliders: Moving Glass Walls. These can open up wide areas to access outdoor kitchens or decks to really expand the living area of log homes.
And what log home doesn’t have a fireplace or stove? In this month’s Green Tip we take a look at some new regulations on the horizon, and how many wood stove manufacturers are developing clean burning and highly efficient wood stoves for many applications.
Finally, there are still some spaces available in the Summer Log Home Seminar in Western Ohio later this month. Click here
