Good Morning!
November is always a busy time in Aroostook County. Hunting season, Thanksgiving, high school football championships and family gatherings top the list. Of course that’s in between tuning up the snow blower, stacking another cord of firewood and re-assembling the roof snow rake.
This time of year we’re also putting our designers and dealers together with our log home customers to work out the details of their new Katahdin Cedar Log Home. To that end we offer some fall-oriented tips in this month’s View From Up North.
Idea books are a fun way to gather ideas, organize your plans and provide visuals for the design team to work with. From binders to Smartphone apps and websites, we offer some expert tips for gathering all the design components together into a coherent planning tool.
Entertaining is on the horizon and we address some design ideas to incorporate into your home with gatherings in mind. One huge part of entertaining is the kitchen, and equipping a new kitchen all at once can be a daunting task. There are some new and tried and true resources for reviewing appliances to take some of the guesswork out of these big-ticket items.
With the drop in the mercury we also have heating on the mind. For our Green Tip this month we revisit a valuable resource for identifying incentives for energy efficient and renewable resource elements in residential homes. We were amazed to learn at a recent planning seminar that in that state, some extremely generous grants and rebates were available. And, don’t forget our 40th Anniversary offer teaming up with MESys Wood Pellet Boiler Systems through the end of the year!
And speaking of seminars, we’ve added a December 7 Planning Seminar in Reading Pa. Check out the details, including a wonderful Katahdin Cedar Log Home we’ll be touring as part of the day’s activities. If you’re in the Seven Springs, Pa., area, come visit us at the Johnson’s Log Home and Timber Frame Show on November 15-17 at the Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Click here for details.
We hope you’ll enjoy this month’s newsletter! If you have any questions, please drop us a line and we’ll try to include them in upcoming newsletters. Just click here to reach us.
Sincerely,
David Gordon
