Since the coronavirus Covid -19 arrived in the US, manufacturers have been scrambling to provide effective indoor air quality and air filtration. One HVAC manufacturer, Carrier, has developed “Capture & Kill” technology that inactivates 99% of select airborne pathogens, including those that cause coronavirus, strep throat, influenza and the common cold.  Carrier’s Infinity® Air Purifier offers whole-home air filtration and purification for homes using forced air for heating and cooling.

How Does It Work?
The Infinity® Air Purifier traps particles measuring 1.0 to 3.0 microns, and subjects them to an intense electrical field. The purifier creates a cloud of electrically charged ions that attach to the particles that affect indoor air quality. The ionized particles are then attracted to an oppositely charged filter where they are trapped and subjected to an intense electrical field. According to Carrier’s recent rigorous testing at the University of Colorado’s Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering Department, along with other third-party testing, confirmed that 99% of select viruses and bacteria are inactivated.

High Efficiency Filtration
The Infinity Air Purifier employs MERV 15 filters. Filters are rated by the Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) that ranges from 1-16. The higher the number the fewer contaminants and particulates can pass through the pleated filter material.

Quiet Protection Sized For Every Home
Installed to work in-line with most HVAC systems, the Infinity Air Filter is available in several sizes to match your Katahdin Cedar Log Home’s specific volume, air flow and heating and cooling demands. You’ll enjoy whole house filtration as well as less dust circulating, fewer seasonal allergy symptoms and overall improved indoor air quality.
